Stump grinding
in Mossburn.
Under the Takitimus, shelter is survival - Mossburn's stock shelter lines and deer fences are there because the nor'wester means it. Old pines and macrocarpa around yards, houses and boundaries eventually come down, and their stumps are some of the biggest I deal with.
How I sort it
The short version
- In through the gate
- The tracked machine gets to stumps bigger gear cannot reach, without wrecking the lawn or the lane on the way in.
- Below the surface
- Stumps are ground out deep enough to grass over, mow, or fence straight through.
- Tidy when I leave
- Grindings dealt with and the ground levelled off - usable ground, not a crater.

The local picture
Around Mossburn
Big dry-country trees grow big stumps, and deer country adds its own rule: fence lines have to be dead straight and properly clear, because deer find any weakness. I grind stumps out below the surface, clear the line completely, and leave ground a fencer can work with. About 40 minutes up the road from Winton, and happy to look at a whole line or a single monster.
Getting to you
Mossburn is about 40 minutes from home on the Te Anau road - an easy run north with the machine.

One machine on site can knock off more than one job. If any of these need doing too, mention it when you call and I will price the lot together.
